Smooth, flat and non porous. That's the whole rule.
Multi Seal Suction needs an airtight seal, so the surface has to be smooth and sealed. Run your hand over it. If it feels glassy and there's no texture or grout under the plate, you're good.
Works on
- Shiny tiles Gloss ceramic and porcelain
- Smooth matte tiles No grain under a fingertip
- Mirrors Any size
- Glass Shower screens, splashbacks
- Acrylic Baths and panels
- Laminate Smooth benchtops and doors
- Shiny metal Stainless and chrome
- Perspex Clear or coloured
- Polished marble Honed and sealed too
Not for
The seal can't form, so the hook won't hold- Painted walls Paint isn't sealed enough
- Plaster and drywall Porous
- Wallpaper Textured and porous
- Wood Even varnished timber
- Textured tiles Air gets under the seal
- Grout lines Keep the plate on one tile
- Rough stone Travertine, slate, brick
Tiles
Mount the whole plate on one tile. Grout lines sit lower than the tile face and break the seal.
Matte tiles
Smooth matte is fine. If you can feel grain or texture with a fingertip, it's not.
